In 2005, E.I. Tikhomirova defended her doctoral habil. dissertation thesis entitled Ecological and Immunological Aspects of Resistance in Infection and Immunization; speciality code - Ecology and Microbiology.

2006–2009 – holded position of professor at the Department of Microbiology and Plant Physiology at Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky.

2008 – was assigned the academic title of professor.

2009 – was elected a full member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences.

Since February 2009 – head of the Department of Ecology of Yuri Gagarin Technical University of Saratov.

  • Leibniz medal for services in the field of natural sciences and diploma of a full member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (2011);
  • Alexander von Humboldt medal for merits in the field of natural sciences of the European Scientific Society (2015).

Author of more than 350 research publications, most of which are published in peer-reviewed journals, 5 monographs, 1 higher school guide-book, 16 training manuals, 5 patents. She was supervisor of 21 Ph.D. theses and 1 doctoral habil. thesis.
