Key research achievements:
- A. Storozhenko directed development of technologies for producing high-temperature composite materials and coatings (plastics, resins, adhesive compositions), pre-ceramic polymers, i.e. polycarbosilanes, as well as heat-resistant fibers based on organoelement coatings, in total, for more than 30 manufacturing processes;
- results of studying chemistry of periodic table group I-IV elements in aprotic media provided a basis for creating technologies for industrial production of energy-intensive inorganic and organoelement compounds for special equipment construction;
- scientific principles and technological procedures have been developed for producing high-temperature composite materials and their components, i.e. new pre-ceramic polymers, oxidation-resistant high-strength high-modulus fibers, and carbon composites for advanced aircraft engines and other space engineering equipment;
- A. Storozhenko guided construction of a unique production facility with testing facilities, which met demands for special catalysts for heavy-weight space rockets for present and future use;
- research in the field of nanotechnology served as the basis for designing a universal industrial installation for producing pure nanopowders for obtaining a number of fundamentally new highly effective compositions for special equipment;
- main principles for preparation of high-purity carbonyls based on refractory metals have been formulated and a novel technology for producing ‘solar’ class silicon has been developed.
