In 2004, T.V. Savitskaya defended her doctor degree thesis entitled ‘System analysis and safety management of chemical engineering facilities using novel information technologies’.

Key research interests:

  • mathematical modeling and methods for synthesis of flexible chemical engineering facilities;
  • design of low-waste and environmentally friendly flexible chemical industries;
  • development of models and algorithms for designing flexible wastewater treatment facilities;
  • risk management, systems analysis and modeling;
  • forecasting environmental pollution caused by emissions of chemical enterprises;
  • development of computer-integrated systems for monitoring and controlling air quality;
  • designing safe chemical engineering equipment focused at reducing environmental risks;
  • remote educational systems and electronic teaching aids in research and educational activities.

Professor T.V. Savitskaya is engaged in intensive pedagogical activity over 36 years. She supervised 6 dissertations for PhD degree in engineering and more than 95 diploma (final qualification) projects of specialists, bachelors and undergraduates. Dozens of teaching programs have been prepared, including programs for advanced training of specialists and retraining of personnel in the system of additional professional education related to chemical safety issues.

Holds the honorary title ‘Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation’ for her merits in the field of education.

Author of more than 380 publications, including 17 books, 26 manuals, more than 80 papers in Russian and foreign editions, 14 patents related to databases and computer software tools.
