Graduated from Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology, Department of Physics and Chemistry (1953).

Professor, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor habil. (Chemistry). Expert adviser of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Member of  the Academic Council of Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry of the Russian Academу of Sciences. At present, B.F. Myasoedov is the scientific research supervisor of  Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science Interdepartment Center of Analytical Research in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MZAI RAN), Profsoyuznaya St. 65, bld. 6, Moscow, 117997 Russia.

Research interests:

  • extraction and sorption methods for isolation, concentration and separation of radioactive elements from various natural and technological sources;
  • highly sensitive and selective methods for determination of radioactive elements.

Key research results:

  • development of novel analytical instruments and sensors;
  • generating new approaches to utilizing irradiated nuclear fuel, including fractionation of highly radioactive waste;
  • designing mineral-like matrices for long-term environmentally safe storage of radionuclides;
  • developing methods for monitoring radiation pollution of the environment.

  • Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of Russian Chemists;
  • Winner of the USSR State Prize, Russian Federation Government Prize, V G. Khlopin Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and V.N. Ipatiev Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
  • B.F. Myasoedov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of People’s Friendship, Order of the Badge of Honor, Order of Merit to the Fatherland, fourth clas;
  • Honored Member of the Japan Society of Analytical Chemistry.

Editor-in-chief of ‘Radiochemistry’ journal, Vice Editor-in-chief of ‘Russian Chemical Reviews’ and ‘Journal of Analytical Chemistry’, member of Editorial Board of ‘Solvent Extraction and Ion Exchange’, ‘Mendeleev Communications’, ‘Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry’, ‘Analytical Sciences’.

B. F. Myasoedov is known as an outstanding organizer of academic science in the Russian Federation. His research results are published in more than 700 papers, six monographs and 32 patents. He was a supervisor of 24 PhD theses and academic adviser of 7 habilitational theses.
