Alexsandr V. Anisimov

Born August 20, 1945.
Graduated with honors from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Chemistry (1968).
From 1971 till present, A.V. Anisimov has been working at the Faculty of Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Moscow, Russia.
Doctor habil. (Chemistry) (1985). Professor, specialized on petrochemicals (since 1990). Head of laboratory of Heteroatomic Compounds, Chair of Petroleum Chemistry and Organic Catalysis (since 1988). For many years, he is lecturing on the topics of chemistry of organic sulfur compounds and bioorganic chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University, Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, as well as on petrochemistry subjects at the Baku branch of Moscow State University, and also at universities of Japan, China, UK, Poland, Mongolia, etc.
Highly skilled expert in the field of petrochemistry and organic chemistry.

Scope of research interests: Chemistry of organic sulfur compounds.
Key research areas:
- research in the field of the rational use of carbon-based resources and methods for producing high-quality motor fuels;
- studies on obtaining new types of catalysts for anhydrous desulfurization of hydrocarbons;
- synthesis of novel materials for designing multifunctional chemical sensors based on compounds derived from crude sour oils.
Key research results:
- fundamentals on transformations of alkenyl heteroaryl sulfides as coordinated processes have been formulated;
- methods for synthesis of cyclic sulfides have been developed;
- methods for preparation of sulfide and disulfide functional derivatives via phase transfer reactions have been proposed;
- novel complexing agents based on thia-crown ethers have been created.
Membership in organizations:
- member of Expert Council of Higher Attestation Commission for Organic Chemistry (since 2002);
- member of Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on implementation of measures aimed at development of chemical, medical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the biotechnological complex of Russia (since 2006);
- member of two dissertation councils for defense of doctoral and PhD theses.
Member of Editorial Boards of the journals ‘Chemical Technology’, and ‘Moscow University Chemistry Bulletin’.
Supervisor of 22 PhD dissertations and 1 doctor dissertation thesis. Has directed and continues to supervise research work supported by grants of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, as well as research within the framework of agreements with domestic and foreign companies.
Author of more than 200 research publications in international and Russian journals, including two monographs and four patents.
