Abstract – Due to the high toxicity of hydrazine hydrate, regular control of its vapor concentration in the air of the working area is required. Measuring the vapor concentrations of hydrazine hydrate can be performed by means of MIS-sensors. The sensitivity of two sensors with MIS-type structures toward vapor concentrations of hydrazine hydrate in the air has been studied. The minimum detectable concentration of hydrazine hydrate using the sensors is found to be 0.005 mg/m3 (in laboratory conditions). A pilot unit of gas analyzer has been developed which is characterized by simple design, reliability, and high sensitivity for hydrazine hydrate vapors.

Keywords: hydrazine, hydrazine hydrate, maximum permissible concentration, MIS-sensor.
